Yoga is an interaction between what we learn on the mat and what we experience in our life, in order to be firmly grounded in the presence.
Claudia Garati
I grew up in Switzerland but always liked to travel the world and discover new facets of life and was fascinated by them. Some twenty years ago I first got in touch with the world of Hatha Yoga and was completely intrigued and under the spell of Yoga. After moving to New York in 2005 I started my first real steps on the yogic path...
Yoga Alliance Certification
During the next two years I dived into the practice of Yoga, enrolled and finished a 500-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training with YogaWorks in New York (current level: E-RYT500® and YACEP®), where I was able to benefit from best of both worlds: YogaWorks precision and alignment and Alan Finger’s more encompassing ISHTA lineage. To further my need for a practice which suited my body and deepen my knowledge of Yoga I immersed myself in this universe. I studied further in New York and San Francisco with teachers such as Alan Finger, Mark Whitwell, Bridget Shields as well as Sara Tirner who introduced me to Restorative Yoga.
Life gave me the opportunity to even further my Yoga during my second stay abroad in Asia (2016-2019) where I delved into Universal Yoga with Copper Crow/Andrey Lappa, Yoga Nidra with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli as well as Handstand Training with Marysia Do. Furthermore, I was able to get registered as a "Certified Yogalehrerin YCH" in Switzerland. After three years in Singapore, we moved back to Switzerland in 2019.
Yoga - what it means to me...
Yoga means both statics and dynamics, which are energetically in balance. I focus on proper, individual alignment to guarantee both safety and freedom during the practice. My aim as a teacher is to allow the students to find their breath and consequenctly become present in each asana and in the moment, i.e. bringing the benefits of yoga off the mat and into today's life.
